Hair Extensions Guide
Hair extensions require more gentle and meticulous care routine than our natural hair. As an introduction to the next guide, we will first explain the differences between different hair extensions types.
- SYNTHETIC HAIR - Hair made of professional synthetic material. This is not natural hair, but in terms of appearance, these hair extensions are very similar to natural hair. It is also heat resistant.
- NON-REMY HAIR - Hair that is taken from different women + is not necessarily compatible in terms of hair directions.
- REMY HAIR HAIR - Hair that is taken from one woman, it is compatible with hair direction.
At the first picture on the right, we see natural hair that is not Remy hair, in the picture on the left - natural Remy hair.
In addition to Remy hair, a certain part of the hair is attached to the extension in such a way that the root is sewn to the top of the plug and the ends of the hair are sewn to the bottom of the plug (as in our natural hair). In non-Remy hair, hair was taken from different heads and attached to the hair extension rather than from the root to the edges. Why is it less good? Because our hair is built in such a way that its scales are towards the ends of the hair and not towards the root, in such a way that the hair keeps its shine, looks better and more durable.
Always remove hair extensions from your hair before washing. Before washing the hair, spray a mixture of high quality conditioner and water and brush the hair from bottom to the top. Wet the hair with lukewarm water apply a little bit of sulphate-free shampoo and high quality of conditioner or hair mask (don't use shampoo designed for volume or for dyed hair). Keep top weft and clips out of water (this avoids swelling of the top weft and the clips going rusty). Rinse thoroughly with cold water. Be sure to wash and brush the hair in one direction from top to bottom gently. Do not rub the hair. Use a clean towel to dry off the extensions. It's better to let the hair dry naturally and avoid the using of hair dryer. Try not to wash the hair extensions too often, as the hard water can dry the hair.
Before and after use remember to brush your Hair Extensions kindly with a soft bristle brush; make sure all knots and tangles are gone. Never comb through your Hair Extensions while they are wet and only use styling tools when they are dry.
Hair care products:
- Conditioner - recommended, desirable and necessary. It is best to use a quality one and avoid applying it at the top of the plug (the sewn part).
- Silicon - free.
- Styling products - no problem, just be sure that these styling products don't contain alcohol as it dehydrates the hair (also our hair, natural).
Bleaching and dying the hair:
Don’t bleach or lighten the hair extensions. It is also advisable not to tint, color, perm or apply any extra chemicals because the hair is already been chemically treated (by
bleaching and coloring). Please be extra careful with the blonde and other light colored hair. They are more chemically processed than dark hair.
Natural hair, in general, resistant to any reasonable temperature (up to 220 degrees). However, just like our natural hair, using too much heat can lead to the damage of your hair extension. Therefore, it is recommended to use the straightener or curler as rarely as possible with a reasonable heat level.
Synthetic hair - resistant to heat up to 180 degrees only. Synthetic hair by nature is not as durable as natural hair, but frequent use of heat will shorten its life even more.
